Paolo Carollo
Director, Geocycle
Paolo Carollo is director at Geocycle. He has over 25 years of experience in developing and implementing sustainable industrial ecosystems across multiple sectors, including cement and construction materials, advanced biofuels, bio-based chemicals, waste recycling and plastics/chemicals.
Currently leading the U.S. East region for Geocycle, a Holcim subsidiary specializing in alternative fuels and raw materials for industrial waste generators, Carollo has played a key role in advancing circular economy solutions and landfill diversion strategies.
Before joining Holcim and Geocycle, Carollo worked on sustainability initiatives for Mossi & Ghisolfi (M&G), formerly one of the world’s largest PET plastics producers. He was instrumental in the North American rollout of Beta Renewables, a startup focused on developing enzymatic conversion technology for lignocellulosic feedstocks into advanced biofuels and bio-based chemicals. Additionally, he led the development of innovative waste management solutions, providing state-of-the-art landfill diversion, recycling and alternative fuel production pathways.
Under Carollo’s leadership, Geocycle East repurposes approximately 1.3 million tons of non-recyclable, end-of-life waste streams annually in the U.S., playing a key role in regional sustainable waste management and carbon reduction efforts.
